RedShiftBio is the developer of Microfluidic Modulation Spectroscopy (MMS). MMS addresses the limitations of current technologies and provides direct, label-free protein analysis. It uses a tunable mid-infrared quantum cascade laser to generate an optical beam 1000 times brighter than those used in conventional FTIR, enabling the measurement of more concentrated samples, and the use of simpler detectors with no requirement for nitrogen cooling. The unique optical configuration of MMS delivers high sensitivity measurements over a wide concentration range of 0.1 – 200 mg/mL to 0.01 mg/mL, giving MMS a wider dynamic range than alternative protein characterization techniques.
