Melanie Laird
I am an evolutionary biologist with a specific research interest in marsupial reproduction. My work is mostly morphological and involves a range of molecular and microscopy techniques, including immunofluorescence and electron microscopy. I’ve previously worked on identifying the molecular and morphological mechanisms of marsupial pregnancy at the University of Sydney. I’m currently at the University of Otago researching reproductive development in brush tail possums, specifically how adult germ cells develop.
