Ankita Gurao completed her doctoral studies in Animal Biotechnology in 2018 at the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Bikaner, India. Currently, she is a ‘Women Scientist’ under the WOS-A scheme of the DST, Government of India, under the institutional mentorship of Dr. Mahesh Dige at ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources in Karnal, India. Her research focuses on the mitogenome-based phylogenetics of bubaline landraces, livestock omics, development of custom tools for bioinformatics analysis, and the study of the effects of thermal stress on livestock.
