In this webinar you will learn:
- Biology of extracellular vesicle biogenesis and secretion.
- Extracellular vesicle composition and contents.
- Functional activity of extracellular vesicles.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a heterogeneous group of vesicles that include exosomes, microvesicles, and apoptotic bodies. There has been increasing interest in EVs in recent years not only as possible biomarkers for disease, but as novel cell-cell communicators with a functional role in both normal physiology and pathological conditions. EVs are released from many cell types and circulate in multiple biofluids in the body, including plasma, cerebral spinal fluid, and urine. They also carry a variety of cargo such as mRNA, non-coding RNA, proteins and lipids. This webinar will give an overview of EV biology including: 1) biogenesis and secretion; 2) EV composition and contents; 3) and functional activity of EVs.
