Khushbu Patel

Khushbu Patel is currently working on image analysis of single cells to study phenotypic heterogeneity in density dependent signaling. She is a Bioinformatics Master’s student from Georgia Institute of Technology and has an undergraduate degree in Microbiology. Microbiology has always been her passion and the idea of computationally analyzing biological data fascinated her. Bioinformatics was where these fields converged. Her research interests include Evolutionary Microbiology, Metagenomics and Immunology. In her free time she likes to read, watch movies and paint.

You go to the FTP site of NCBI’s refseq and click on the Homo sapiens folder. There you are presented with two choices. Which one…

How to Use CellProfiler for Cell Imaging

By Khushbu Patel | June 22, 2017

Are you trying to figure out how to calculate intensities of fluorescently-labeled single cells? Do you have cells at high densities or present in clusters? Are you worried that your current cell imaging analysis software is unable to mark clear boundaries around each cell in a cell cluster? Don’t fear, because CellProfiler 2.1 is here to…
