Jared received his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center–Shreveport working on tumor progression by Helicobacter pylori. He also became a dad 3 times in grad school. He eventually got tired of the heat and therefore became a postdoctoral fellowship at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill working on tumor biology in response to radiation and developing a new method of radiation therapy. Although he was sad to part with NC BBQ, he then traded in his bench for a desk at a biotech company as a web content specialist. Now a dad of 4, he spends his time writing scientific content for protein research products and methods, increasing web traffic through SEO and migrating technical content between corporate websites.
