In this talk, I will provide an overview of the issues facing current data analyses in bioinformatics, and will discuss how Taverna can begin to address such issues. The Taverna workflow workbench provides an environment in which scientists design and execute data analysis pipelines, known as Workflows. By combining distributed services and data resources into a single experimental protocol, researchers can construct Workflows that are re-usable, easily adapted to fit alternative needs, and provide an explicit methodology. I will also showcase my Experiment (a social networking site and scientific workflow repository), and the BioCatalogue (a repository of available Web Services for the Life Science community).
