Basics of Confocal Microscopy
On-demand
Alison Dun, PhD
I graduated from Sussex University in 2007 with a degree in Molecular Medicine. I worked for Unipath for a year in prenatal diagnostics before beginning my PhD. For my PhD I studied membrane dynamics, specifically exocytosis, using a range of imaging techniques. In February 2013 I worked with my PhD supervisor to establish ESRIC, which I am the imaging facility manager for. ESRIC specialises in super-resolution microscopy. I still carry out some of my own research but primarily I train new users, work with users to develop their projects, organise events, manage the admin and outreach.

- why and when you should use confocal microscopy
- how to get started with confocal microscopy including a demonstration of the key features on a Leica Microsystems confocal microscope
Summary:
Are you a confocal novice but interested in using this technique for your own research needs? Looking for information on how to get started in your confocal career?
Well look no further, in this webinar we will be covering the basics of confocal microscopy for those individuals who have had little or no prior experience with this technique. We will be discussing when to use this technique and will also be providing a demonstration on a Leica confocal microscope to show you just how powerful a technique this is.
