Dara Wilson-Grant

Dara intimately understands the unique challenges faced by today’s graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the STEM, social sciences, and humanities. Through her workshops and one-on-one assistance, she helps scholars develop the clarity and confidence they need when facing some of the toughest decisions of their lives, such as electing to stay in academia, abandon the tenure track, or pursue a career in industry.

In addition, Dara provides guidance to help individuals prepare for, embark on, and succeed in the next phase of his or her career. Her career management workshops have been presented at national and international universities, government agencies, and research institutions.

– Networking: A Tool for Exploring Careers and Building Professional Relationships
– How to Avoid Self-Sabotage and Win at Salary Negotiations

Dara holds a MSEd in Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has worked as a clinically trained counselor since 2001 and currently serves as the Associate Director of Postdoctoral Affairs at UNC Chapel Hill. She is also the owner of Careers in Bloom.
