5 (and more) Internet Learning Resources
As a scientist, it can be very useful to have a basic understanding of things like management, business and communication (and lots of other things), especially as you go through your career and end up managing a group or a business!
If you are lucky, your company or institution will provide you with some training in these areas, but self-study is a good idea too, and the internet is bursting with free resources to help you.
One particularly useful set of resources is provided by a set of forward thinking universities/entities, which are now offering free access to materials for some of their taught courses. Although not as good as actually doing the course, these are fantastic mines of information that should not be passed up.
Some of my favorites are:
1. Communication, Technology and Policy, offered by the University of Southern Queensland
2. How to find start-up funding, offered by Trump University
3. Statistical Inferences for Social and Life Scientists from UC Berkeley
4. Marketing Courses from Kutztown University of Pennsylvannia
5. Business and Management courses from The Open University (Dan picked up on this resource before).
